SOME SONGS BY
CERTAIN VICTORY:

"Brand New Thing"

by Paul Lytle

And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, "Abba! Father!" Therefore you are no longer a slave, but a son; and if a son, then an heir through God.

Galatians 4:6-7

Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.

2 Corinthians 5:17

Freedom comes
You rip off the cold chain
Give a robe
And take me out of the rain
Made an heir
I need not to refrain
From singing "Lord!"

Salvation comes
You wash off the dark dirt
Yeah, yeah, yeah,
You do mend my hurts
Made an heir
And in golden bands girt
I cry, "Lord!"

I'm spirited to sing
"Abba, Father!"
No more questioning
"Abba, Father!"

No, no, no
Take me back to that place
Let the news
Spread out about His grace
Born anew
I am out of disgrace
I cry, "Lord!"

I'm spirited to sing
"Abba, Father!"
No more questioning
"Abba, Father!"
So let that freedom ring
"Abba, Father!"
I'm a brand new thing

Heavenly Father, You have clothed me in fine silk and feed me from Your fine feast, and yet I have done nothing to deserve it. Like the prodigal son I come on my knees for forgiveness, and You give me Your best. Worthy are You above all, O Lord; let You name be a praise upon my lips forevermore. Amen.

The farther I walked with the Lord the more I become like Him. So far I have yet to go, but so much has He filled me already. He has formed in me something new, something nearer to what he desires of me. Every day that image changes and takes shape, and I am in awe of every alteration. I am not losing myself, but gaining it, for I now see how lost and numb I was before Christ, and how much more I have become now. It is a mystery, but the more I surrender myself, the more of myself I gain.

We are called to be His children and His friends. He will protect us as such, and he will provide for us as such. He will discipline us, it is true, as a good father will discipline his son, but His actions are made for our benefit. He watched over our growth and prevents us from going too much astray. We are heirs to the kingdom, and He desires that we conduct ourselves as such. Cry out, "Abba, Father!" then, and proclaim how you have been born anew in Him.
