Certain Victory — News

Keep updated on going-ons with CV here. As soon as we have enough news to archive, we will have archives. We'll probably have something announcing upcoming shows too, once we get some of those.

Due to scheduling conflicts, Greg is stepping back from the band. We'll miss him greatly, but we also need to stay true to our calling, and so we are looking for a new bassist. We also wouldn't mind a rhythm guitarist. If you are interested in auditioning, please click here for details.

We’re recording now, trying to get at least a few new songs up on the website. So far everything is sounding great, so keep coming by for some updates!

Wouldn't you know it? The ink on the page was not even dry on my announcement of the band when we suddenly find ourselves with an opening again. Tiju has left to pursue other stuff, and so we are in need of a rhythm guitarist. Please click here to learn more.

Ask, and it will be given to you;
seek, and you will find;
knock, and it will be opened to you.

When I go after something using my own understanding and wisdom, I am often left without. Nothing could be more true than the story of this band. I had one idea after another to find members, but in the end, God led them to me. I will tell that story in full before long, but now I want to introduce the current members of Certain Victory:

Benji Leal will be providing our vocals. Benji's been a friend of mine for a long time, and his contribution to these songs has been incredible. He knows music, and he can sing.

Greg Frank came into this band with a vision that matched mine almost exactly and an enthusiasm that is unmatched in the group. He's also a heck of a bassist, and his work is really providing the substance to what we're doing.

Tiju Jacob has graciously agreed to be our rhythm guitarist. I had originally wanted to have two rhythm players, but he is putting so much into the music that we won't need one. He's an accomplished lead guitarist also, and on many of the songs we'll be sharing the lead duties.

Skip Hayes wasn't even looking for a band when he found us. I can relate, brother! His drums have been providing quite a backbone for these songs. I think you're going to like what he's coming up with.

The band is far from complete. If you're a musician in southwest Houston or Fort Bend County and you understand what's going on here, click here to see what we still need.

The website is launched! We have music and not enough musicians, but we have a website, so we're practically famous, right? Check out our "Music" section for tunes, look at our "Story" for why this has come about, and take a look at the "Band" section to see who is actually putting this mess together.
